Mentorship Program - Mentor Registration 2023 Cohorts Program :)

Greetings Sisters,

Welcome to the New and Improved Sisters of the Skies’ Mentorship Program’s Mentor Application. Please read this information carefully as our mentorship program is continually expanding. The SOS Mentorship Committee currently has created the new Cohorts Mentorship Progam, and we are so excited you are considering volunteering! Please remember that in order to become a mentor for our program, you must be a current, paid member of Sisters of the Skies, Inc.

We hope that you can join our monthly Cohorts meetings at least once a quarter to share your wisdom and perspective, and monitor our SLACK and GroupMe chats once weekly. We understand that Airline Schedules change, and we can absolutely work with you!

This program is the Sisters of the Skies' commitment to caring about its current and future members. Our mentorship programs will also aid in creating a more engaged member, help with individual development, and foster a stronger sisterhood for the organization. As an SOS mentor, we hope that you will be willing to share your wisdom, skills, and expertise with your mentees, as well as evolve your thinking and deepen your mentoring skills.

Cohort Mentorship Program Details

The Cohort Program utilizes the Slack App to group mentees with mentors in a virtual platform to achieve support, guidance and best practices for each group based on their training level. In Slack, mentees will be assigned to one of three cohorts: Private pilot candidates(Cohort I); Instrument rating candidates( Cohort II), and Commercial/Multi-CFI-CFII-MEII candidates(Cohort III.) Our Military Cohort shares information as needed through the SLACK platform.  Mentees must possess at least a student pilot’s certificate or any class Aviation medical, and pay our non-refundable application processing fee, and be at least 16 years of age with parental consent below the age of 18.  They must fill out our online application, and complete our screening interview process. Mentors will need to have the Slack App in order to participate.  

As of right now, we are seeking sisters to volunteer their time as mentors. As a mentor, you would be committing to serve for the remainder of the year. We appreciate you volunteering your time and resources to become a Sisters of the Skies Mentor.
