Mentorship Program - Mentee Registration 2021 (Cohorts in Slack)

Greetings, 

Welcome to the Sisters of the Skies’ Mentorship Program’s Mentee Application. Please read this information carefully as our mentorship program is continually expanding. The SOS Mentorship Committee currently offers multiple mentorship programs. Each of these programs is designed for a different purpose, so make sure you are applying for the one that applies to you. 

We have created these programs to show how much the Sisters of the Skies Organization cares about its current and future members, and how committed we are to creating a more prepared woman of color entering the Aviation industry. As a Sisters of the Skies mentee, you will obtain a female pilot industry contact. With that, we hope that you will develop your career goals, participate in industry focused conversations, and take part in the program’s engaging learning activities. 

***New Opportunity***As our organization grows, we have seen growing interest in our mentorship program. Therefore, we are introducing the Cohort Program which will utilize the Slack App to group mentees with mentors in a virtual platform to achieve support, guidance and best practices for each group based on their training level. You must possess at least a student pilot’s certificate, pay our non-refundable application processing fee, be at least 16 years of age with parental consent below the age of 18, fill out our online application, and complete our screening interview process. The acceptance notification will be conducted on a bi-weekly basis and you will need to have the Slack App in order to participate. Registration applications will be accepted from September 10- December 31. 

This is a new program that will have an ongoing discussion through the end of the year. During this timeframe, we ask that you check-in with your cohort a minimum of once a month, however checking in more often is encouraged.

The Sisters of the Skies Mentorship Program has a competitive application process as there are a limited number of slots available. Once completing the application form and paying the non-refundable $15 application processing fee, Mentees will go through a screening process to determine their induction into the program. Here, the applicants will sign up for interview slots and will be contacted by the Mentorship Committee and asked a series of questions to aid in determining their induction into the program. Once inducted, participants will receive a confirmation email from the Mentorship Committee. If an applicant is not successful in this process, guidance will be provided to inform them of the next steps for them to be successful.
