The members of Sisters of the Skies are, Inc. (SOS) are commemorating the 100th anniversary of Bessie Coleman earning her International Pilot's License with a Scholarship & Fundraising Virtual Gala and Initiative in order to raise awareness around the lack of representation throughout the aviation industry.
In the United States, less than 1/2 of 1% of all professional pilots are Black or African-American women operating in the commercial airline, military, corporate and charter space. SOS is dedicated to increasing these numbers through scholarship, mentorship, and outreach,
...but most importantly...
to raise scholarship funds for black women who are actively pursuing a career as a professional pilot.
The ticket sales for this event will primarily fund the flight training scholarships and will be awarded to the most deserving women who are currently in flight school and are members of our organization and mentorship program.
We look forward to seeing each of you at this year's event and we are deeply appreciative of your support.
Sincerely,
The Members of Sisters of the Skies, Inc.
Uniforms optional for active, professional pilots.
Login information will be emailed to you a few days prior to the event.
